Cysteamine is a natural antioxidant, precursor in taurine biosynthesis, and component of coenzyme A; Used in medical research (potent ulcerogen), as a drug (nephropathic cystinosis), and antidote (acetaminophen poisoning); [Merck Index] "A radiation-protective agent that oxidizes in air to form CYSTAMINE.
