Grease thickeners are not usually made as pure compounds, and exist only in the "grease matrix"; Category members and similar compounds demonstrate moderate skin and eye irritation in rabbits; No skin sensitization in guinea pigs; Low acute oral and dermal toxicity; Mortality, hematological effects (males), and signs of liver toxicity in repeated-dose oral study of rats at approximately 10,000 mg/kg/day; No adverse effects in oral and several dermal studies of rats at the highest tested doses; No evidence of adverse effects on reproductive organs in repeated-dose studies and no adverse effects on fetuses in dermal study of rats; [Reference #1] See "Lithium."
