Description

Low forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1); FEV1 is the volume of air that can be forcefully exhaled in one second. See Table 16.4 in Sullivan, p. 215. ". . . increasing BMI in heavier people, particularly those who had a BMI >26.4 kg/m2, 79% of whom had become obese by year 10, was associated with a rapid decrease in FVC and FEV1 and an almost constant FEV1/FVC ratio."
