hematuria

Description

Blood in the urine; Normal urine may contain as many as a few red blood cells (RBCs) per high-powered field (hpf) when examined under the microscope. Less than 3% of normal people have >3 RBCs/hpf. Vigorous exercise before urine collection may cause microscopic hematuria. [Wallach, p. 761-2]
